I strongly support the balanced approach the government took to the war of choice between Israel allied with the United States, and Iran - only allowing our bases to be used, at most, for defensive purposes. I think Nigel Farage is too close to Donald Trump, and I fear that if Farage had been Prime Minister, he would have ultimately succumbed to Trump’s rhetoric and fully joined in the war - with potentially devastating consequences for both Britain and the world.
I support the UK’s recognition of the State of Palestine, and the long-term NATO target of spending 3.5% of GDP on core defence.
We must continue to support Ukraine, and continued co-operation between the UK and Ukraine will allow our defense sector to learn from Ukraine’s real-world expertise on drone technology. This benefits both countries, and contributes to the strengthening of the defence of the UK and Europe as a whole against Russia.
